「時間」をテーマに制作活動をされている飯川さん。ヴォインでのテーマは時間泥棒でした。現代社会では一分一秒と標準化され客観的に扱われている時間は、そんなに単純な言葉で片付けられるものなのでしょうか。飯川さんは高校時代に、周りの人の協力を得て、友達の時間を盗んだことがあるそうです。時計の針を数時間もどすのですが、全てを用意周到に計画したため早朝と深夜がひっくり返ってもそのお友達は気がつかなかったとのことでした。私たちは、飯川さんの横浜でのいたずらで、身近にあるものへの視点が少しずれ、慣れっこだったことに新しい発見をしました。


Takehiro Iikawa works with the concept of time in his work. For his residence at Voin Pahoin, he warned us that he is going to steal time. How could he? We all know that time is objectified and standardized into a hour, minute and second. But still... how? Once, he told us his success story in his stealing-time business. When he was a high school student, he rewound his friend's watch for several hours. Everything was planned out so perfectly that his friend didn't even realize that the day and night were reversed. He made rather small tricks to us, but effectively confused our sense of time and shifted the way we see the everyday life.

第４回ヴォイン・パホインでは、美術家の堀尾貞治さんから「お二人の住んではるところやから好きなようにして下さい」という温かいお言葉を頂き、堀尾さんのアイデア・スケッチと色塗りのお仕事をご紹介させて頂きました。神戸からヴォインのために来横下さった堀尾さん、ご来ヴォイン頂いたみなさま、本当にありがとうございました。「空気を見たいと思って、色を塗り始めました」という堀尾さんの言葉を胸に、これからもヴォイン・パホインは活動を続けて行きたいと思います。末永くよろしくお願いします。

We are delighted to have the artist, Mr. Sadaharu Horio for the 4th installment of Voin Pahoin. He let us borrow his sketchbooks filled with ideas and told us "please use them as you wish, because they will be shown in the space where you two live everyday." Sincere gratitude to Mr. Horio, who came all the way to Yokohama from Kobe for Voin Pahoin and to everyone who visited us August 25th, 2007! Mr. Horio's words are engraved in our heart: "I continue adding layers of color paints to objects everyday, out of my desire to see the air."

第３回ヴォイン・パホインは、造形作家の保科晶子さんによる <ぐるぐるまきプロジェクト> を公開しました。100kgの粘土がヴォインに搬入され、まず最初にトイレの水道管、タンク、床、そして最後に寝室の布団が巻かれました。また、保科さん初の試みとして、再生の過程で粘土が出す「音」を記録編集したサウンド作品が発表されました。保科さんのプロジェクトからインスピレーションを受けたVPメニューは「ゴロン包み焼きマルサラソース添え」「どろグラッセ・オ・カフェ」でした。ご来場下さった皆さま、五感で粘土をお楽しみ頂けましたでしょうか。またVP特製うちわをお持ち帰り頂いた皆さま、今年の夏のお供としてお使い頂ければ幸いです。




For the third installment of Voin Pahoin, artist Akiko Hoshina presented "Guru-Guru-Maki Project." 100 kg of clay was brought in to cover the water pipe, water tank and floor of the restroom, and also to cover the futon mattress in the bedroom. For the first time, Hoshina installed her sound work made with the sound of clay captured during the process of reviving. We hope you enjoyed clay with your 5 senses. Also we wish the VP original fans will give you nice breeze in the summer.

住居という空間で試してみたいプロジェクトがあるとの新井さんの提案を受け、ぜひにとルームジャックをお願いしました。８時間の展示時間を含め合計３週間ほど新井さんの作品«ルームオブスクラ»内で生活しました。光の強い時間帯は密閉された部屋から、外を歩く人の動きまでも観察することができました。布団に寝転がって天井を眺め映像にシンクロする外の音を聞いていると、内と外の境界がなくなるような、不思議な感覚を覚えました。


The context of Voin Pahoin seemed to work perfectly for Takashi Arai's project plan to create a room size camera obscra. Including the 8 hours of the exhibition, we spent a total of 3 weeks living in Arai's "room obscura." Laying down on the bed, we enjoyed an image of the street projected in the ceiling accompanied by the realtime noise coming from the outside. Although we were in an isolated black box without any light coming from outside, the work made us feel the presence of and relationship with the outside.

VPでは：部屋サイズのカメラオブスクラを設置。小部屋を完全に遮光し小さな穴から光を取り込む。イメージはレンズで拡大され太陽の動きに従い部屋の様々な場所に映し出される。その他、ダゲレオタイプやポートレートのシリーズなどの作品をキッチンと大部屋で展示。作家がレジデンスを行った横浜美術館の学芸員・木村絵理子氏との対談を行った。
At VP: installed a room-size camera obscura. Light was completely shut out except a pinhole from which the light came through to portray the image of outside. The image appeared in different spots in the room according to the angle of the Sun. A cross-talk was held with Eriko Kimura, curator at Yokohama Museum of Art, where Arai did a artist residence in 2006.


1978年、川崎市生まれ。ものの表面や映り込み、人々のまなざしなどに注目した写真作品に加え、最近では写真黎明期の技法・ダゲレオタイプを独自に研究、再現し、同技法によるポートレイトのシリーズを制作している。2006年夏の横浜美術館アーティスト・イン・ミュージアム（AIMY）では、関内のスタジオ・スペースに滞在し、友人・知人のほか会期中に出会った人々と対話を図りながら、ダゲレオタイプにおさめていく公開制作と展示を行った。
